Day 1
FCE Train Journey

Embark on an unforgettable journey as we begin our day with an early breakfast before heading to the FCE train station. Prepare to be captivated by the unique experience of traveling on Madagascar’s iconic train, which will take you through breathtaking landscapes and lush rainforests en route to Sakabe.

As you traverse this scenic route, you’ll be treated to the mesmerizing sights and sounds of nature, including the enchanting melodies of cascading waterfalls. Along the way, vibrant
vendors will greet you at each stop, offering a delightful array of local delicacies such as bananas, freshly baked bread, succulent crayfish, savory nems, and sambos, as well as a
variety of exotic fruits.

Our adventure continues as we disembark at the seventh station, Tolongoinana, where a 9-kilometer hike awaits. This trek will lead you through the heart of the countryside, allowing
you to immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty and rich culture of the region.

Upon our arrival in Sakabe, you will be warmly welcomed by the local community, who are eager to share their traditions and way of life with you.

As the sun sets, we will settle into a cozy bivouac, where you can reflect on the day’s experiences under a starlit sky.

Day 2
A Journey into Madagascar's Heart

Awaken to the serene beauty of Sakabe with our first Atagnala breakfast, surrounded by the soothing melodies of native birds. Here, you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle
of city life.

Our day begins with a visit to a local vanilla plantation, where you will discover the intricate process behind one of Madagascar’s most famous exports. Following this, immerse yourself
in the vibrant culture of the region as you join the friendly locals in ploughing the rice fields, either by hand or with the assistance of zebu. This hands-on experience offers a unique
glimpse into the traditional agricultural practices that sustain the community.

For lunch, you will be warmly welcomed into a local home, where the residents will prepare a delicious meal infused with love and joy. Share this delightful experience as you dine together,
savoring the flavors of Madagascar.

In the afternoon, be captivated by the Magnoby association, showcasing their unique cultural heritage that remains largely undiscovered by the outside world. Participate in the lively
animation known as MAGNOBY, which embodies the spirit of happiness. Witness the TOLOGNA, a traditional sport reminiscent of martial arts, performed by local men. The day will culminate in a festive celebration, where you can dance to traditional music and join in the joyous atmosphere.

As the sun sets, retreat to your bivouac for a night under the stars, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the day. Join us in Sakabe, where every moment is a celebration
of Madagascar’s rich culture and natural beauty.

Day 3
Discover the Charms of Sakabe
Visit Madagascar, Sakabe, field work, local immersion

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast prepared by the warm-hearted locals, setting the perfect tone for a day of exploration in the enchanting village of Sakabe. Our first stop
is the remote Malazamasina Public Primary School, where you have the unique opportunity to engage with eager young minds. Participate in teaching the pupils and share in the joy of
learning. This is also a wonderful moment to contribute to their education by donating essential supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, and books.

After this enriching experience, we will journey to the serene Famiha River, a hidden gem surrounded by lush, evergreen vegetation. Here, you can immerse yourself in the soothing sounds
of cascading waterfalls, a true symphony of nature. Feel free to splash in the refreshing waters or take a leisurely swim, embracing the tranquility of this pristine environment.

Indulge in a delightful picnic on the river’s rocky banks, where the gentle sound of flowing water creates the perfect backdrop for relaxation and connection with nature.

In the afternoon, we will return to Ambatolahy Fito, our campsite, where you can partake in the preparation of traditional Malagasy snacks. Learn to make Sambaika, crispy banana chips,
breadfruit chips, and feta, or try your hand at crafting a traditional Malagasy cake wrapped in longoza leaves. For those interested in a more hands-on experience, fishing in the nearby
pond could provide a fresh catch for our dinner.

As the sun sets, gather around the campfire for a night under the stars, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow travelers and the beauty of Madagascar’s wilderness. Join us for an unforgettable adventure that promises to leave you with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for this remarkable island.

Day 4
Discovering the Riches of Sakabe
Visit Madagascar, Sakebe

After a delightful breakfast, we embark on an enchanting journey through the lush landscapes of Sakabe. Our first stop is a captivating cinnamon plantation, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to gather fresh cinnamon bark for our afternoon tea. As we traverse the scenic route, we’ll pass through vibrant banana and coffee plantations, immersing ourselves in the
breathtaking beauty of the Antagnala region.

Lunch will be served in the charming village of Ambatolahy Fito, where you can savor the flavors of local cuisine.

In the afternoon, we invite you to engage with the local community and participate in their daily activities. Whether it’s trampling the rice fields, planting cassava, pounding rice,
weeding, or transplanting rice, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the traditional agricultural practices that sustain this vibrant culture.

As the day draws to a close, prepare for a lively evening hosted by the Magnoby Association. They will share their heartfelt farewell, or “Veloma,” through traditional songs that celebrate
the spirit of Madagascar.

Tonight, we will camp under the stars, creating unforgettable memories in the heart of this extraordinary land.
